Howes Percival donates gifts for Leicestershire Cares
Staff at the Leicester office of the law firm Howes Percival LLP have donated more than 40 Christmas gifts to bring cheer to disadvantaged people in Leicestershire.
The Collect4Christmas gifts, plus a large box of everyday essentials for men, women and children, are being distributed by Leicestershire Cares through FareShare Leicester. Leicestershire Cares’ theme for its Collect4Christmas appeal this year is “destitution”, and as well as Christmas gifts the collection has included everyday essential items such as soap, toothpaste and tootbrushes, and toiletries.
The gifts – all wrapped up by Howes Percival staff – include hats, gloves, scarves, teddy bears and luxury biscuits and chocolates. They will be warmly welcomed by the people helped by FareShare, which include the very old, the homeless and the victims of domestic violence.
Many Howes Percival staff generously donated presents and others gave money to the appeal; the £150 raised being spent on more gifts. The appeal was led by Kiran Johal with the help of Becky Hodgkins and Michael Briggs.
Becky Hodgkins said: “We have been overwhelmed by everyone's generosity this year and I am thrilled that everyone at Howes Percival shares the firm's ongoing commitment to supporting local and national charities, particularly through its membership of Leicestershire Cares.”
Michael Briggs added: “I am so pleased to see how much we have been able to contribute to the appeal this year and good to know that we will have helped some of our most disadvantaged people and families in Leicestershire over Christmas.”
Leicestershire Cares director Monica Kimche said: “We thank Howes Percival very much for taking the time to support this incredibly important cause of helping people in destitution over Christmas.”
