If your application is successful, you will spend one week at your chosen office. During this time you will spend time in each of the main disciplines practised in that office, including company/commercial, employment, litigation and commercial property. You will work closely with our current trainees and qualified solicitors and experience the opportunities which are open to our trainees including (where possible) attendance at client meetings, hearings, and seminars.
It is your opportunity both to get to know us better and to show us your potential as a future trainee of the firm; many of our current and past trainees undertook a placement with us before joining the firm.
As with all firms, places on our work experience scheme are limited in number. We therefore ask that all candidates complete our online application form which will be live from November 2013. The deadline for applications for our 2014 scheme is 31 March 2014. Interviews will take place during April 2014, with the placements running during June and July 2014.
Candidates should have good A-level grades and have graduated (or be predicted to graduate) with a 2:1 degree or better. Whilst we have no preference between law and non-law students, in line with training contract applications, non-law candidates will typically have completed their first degree before undertaking a vacation placement and law candidates will have completed their second year of study.
