We draft and negotiate building contracts using JCT, NEC other published standard forms and bespoke agreements where applicable. We also advise on professional appointments, novations, collateral warranties, third party rights schedules, bonds, guarantees and other forms of security, framework and partnering agreements. In each case we work with our clients to allocate risk appropriately, to deal effectively with project related legal issues and liaise with other parties with the aim of making the process as painless and streamlined as possible. We firmly believe that discussing roles and responsibilities, issues and risk allocation at this stage is the best way to minimise the risk of disputes later in the construction process.
Our team also advises on risk management during projects, including issues arising out of the insolvency of one of the project partners. If it is not possible to avoid a dispute we have wide experience in dealing with adjudications and the process of mediating, litigating and arbitrating construction disputes.
