Meet Howes Percival’s New Trainees of 2019

28th October, 2019

Howes Percival has appointed seven new trainee solicitors across its offices in Cambridge, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Norwich.

The seven new trainees and their first departments are Amy Ward (Commercial Property), Beth Boucher (Planning), Fleur Chapman (Commercial Property), Helaina Mann (Estates) and Oluwatobi Taiwo (Commercial Property).

As part of their training contract, each trainee will undertake four six-month seats in different departments across the firm. Trainees also usually have the opportunity to gain experience in at least two of Howes Percival’s offices and develop their business development and marketing skills by getting involved with client events and seminars.

The new trainees join eight current trainee solicitors who have already completed a year of their training contract.

The firm has also appointed five new associates who completed their training contracts with Howes Percival earlier this year. In September, Kirsten Tinline and Gurjeet Kaur chose to continue their careers with the firm. Kirsten joins the Estates team and is based in Cambridge and Norwich, while Gurjeet joins the Insolvency team in Leicester.

In May, Jasmine Mason, Emma Lant and Donna-Marie Helgeson joined the firm's Commercial Property and Commercial Litigation teams following completion of their training with the firm.

Howes Percival Partner and Training Principal, Simon Murphy comments:

“We are delighted to welcome the new trainees to Howes Percival. We see our trainees as future partners and so we think it’s important that their training contract is well-rounded with opportunities to develop their business development skills alongside their legal expertise.

We are equally pleased that so many of this year’s newly qualified solicitors have decided to continue their careers with us. They follow a long line of former trainees who have stayed with the firm and we see this as testament to our training programme and supportive working environment.”

Howes Percival was recently announced as a winner in six categories in The Lex 100– a comprehensive guide to training contracts at the UK’s top law firms.
