Event Date: Tue 22nd Sep 2026
Join us for the third session in our joint webinar series with Food Science Fusion, bringing together legal and technical insight for food and drink businesses.
AI is already helping food and drink businesses with product development, recipes, labelling, claims and decision-making. But when an AI tool gives a confident answer, how do you know whether it is safe, lawful and commercially usable?
In this one-hour webinar, we will use a fictional product case study to explore the practical risks of using AI in food and drink innovation. We will look at what can go wrong when AI is used for formulation, recipe development, regulatory compliance and ownership of outputs, and how businesses can build suitable controls before taking an AI-assisted idea to market.
The session will focus on three key themes:
• Safety: when AI outputs need technical validation and human judgement
• Legality: why UK compliance cannot be assumed from AI-generated answers
• Scalability: how to grow AI-assisted innovation without scaling risk
The webinar is aimed at food and drink businesses using, testing or considering AI in product development, compliance or commercial decision-making with the content informed by a short pre-webinar survey.
This webinar will be presented by Howes Percival's Commercial, Technology and Intellectual Property partners, Paula Dumbill and Hannah Steggles, together with Ruth Dolby, Director of Food Science Fusion.
