Howes Percival’s Cambridge office has celebrated a series of awards and accolades following a very busy 12 months.
Central & East Dealmakers Awards 2020
In April 2021 Howes Percival was named ‘Corporate Law Firm of the Year’ at Insider Media’s Central & East Dealmakers Awards 2020. The firm was also shortlisted for two deals in the ‘Deal of the Year (above £10m)’ category and for another two deals in the ‘Deal of the Year (below £10m)’ category.
The annual awards recognise high-quality work from the key professional services firms in the central and eastern region who have excelled in dealmaking over the past year. Howes Percival was praised for its proactive and client-focused services and judges highlighted the firm’s involvement in the sale of Metrol Springs to Lesjofors AB and the acquisition of Norfolk Broads Holdings by Craft Leisure.
The award marks another milestone for the firm’s Corporate, Commercial and Banking team which had an ‘incredibly busy’ start to 2021, completing 32 deals in the first quarter with a combined value of £263 million.
The Cambridgeshire Law Society Legal Excellence Awards
Our Cambridge real estate team was crowned ‘Commercial Property Team of the Year’ at The Cambridgeshire Law Society Legal Excellence Awards in April 2021. Held annually, the awards recognise the best individuals, teams and law firms practising in Cambridgeshire.
Howes Percival’s Commercial Property team is a dedicated, client focused team, providing outstanding service across the full spectrum of real estate legal services – including construction matters and property litigation. The team offers a ‘one stop shop’ for investors, developers and other organisations in the real estate sector.
The win follows the firm’s Planning team’s recent ranking in Planning Magazine’s 2021 Planning Law Survey where it placed 9th in the prestigious survey of the UK’s leading planning law firms and barristers. The survey also placed Partner, Jay Mehta, as the 6th highest rated planning solicitor in the UK.
Best Companies to Work For 2021

The firm ranked in 72nd place in the Best Large Companies to Work For list (after previously being listed in the ‘Mid-Sized Companies’ category in 2020). In addition, Howes Percival ranked 5th in the Top 20 Best Law Firms to Work For 2021 list.
