Experience and Background

Will is a Partner in the Commercial Property team specialising in development projects where he acts for developers (including well-known regional and national house builders), landowners and promoters on residential and commercial developments. 

Will’s expertise encompasses site acquisitions and disposals, strategic land agreements, landowner and developer collaboration agreements, overage deeds, buy-back arrangements and pre-emption deeds. He is known for having a pragmatic and collaborative approach to his advice and to his approach to transactions more generally.   

Recent work examples include:  ​

  • Acting for a consortium of landowners disposing of a large urban expansion of 3,500 units.  ​
  • Acting for a developer on their acquisition of a 700 unit scheme, conditional upon the phased delivery of a site-wide nutrient mitigation strategy. 
  • ​Acting for a commercial client on their conditional acquisition of a site for the development of a new dealership for agricultural vehicles and machinery. 
  • ​Acting for a promoter in relation to the promotion of a large scale site requiring off-site land to satisfy biodiversity net gain and open space requirements.
