Howes Percival has acted for the shareholders of Leicester accountancy firm Torr Waterfield on its successful sale to Duncan & Toplis, one of the UK’s leading accountancy and business advisory businesses.
Founded in 2000, Torr Waterfield provides accountancy, tax and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of business and personal clients. Duncan & Toplis, which was established in 1925, currently operates from 14 offices across the Midlands and London.
Following completion of the deal, Torr Waterfield has officially joined Duncan & Toplis. The business will now operate under the Duncan & Toplis brand, with all 60 team members – including directors and co-founders Mark Torr and Mike Waterfield – continuing in their current roles.
Torr Waterfield’s office on Clarence Street has become Duncan & Toplis’ newest location, enhancing the business’ reach across the Midlands and strengthening its presence in Leicestershire.
Howes Percival advised Torr Waterfield and its shareholders on all aspects of the transaction. The Corporate team was led by Partner Gareth John, supported by Tanya Dobson and Emma Cobley, with Nick Benton advising on employment law.
Gareth John commented:
We were so pleased to support Mark, Mike and the rest of the Torr Waterfield team on this landmark transaction in the Leicester professional services sector. I look forward to seeing the team go from strength to strength under the Duncan & Toplis banner.
